THOUSAND FOOT KRUTCH - EXHALE

Posted in: What's New | No Comments

Just a year-and-a-half after Thousand Foot Krutch landed their second consecutive Hard Rock No. 1 and Billboard Top 10 album with the understated experiment OXYGEN: INHALE, the adrenaline-doused rockers are back to the aggressive side of the dial with the entirely new companion collection EXHALE. Not only is the experience loaded with arena-shaking anthems and bellowing battle cries at every self assured turn, but the lyrics are some of the boldest and most uncompromising in the group’s history. “I had gotten the idea a few years back of having Inhale showcase the lighter, quieter side of the band and then have EXHALE drop the gloves and dive even deeper into the aggressive side,” explains front man Trevor McNevan. “We didn’t get soft on the last one. We were just trying to do something different and I’d call EXHALE the older brother to Inhale. It really documents who TFK is and what we love about rock, aggressive music ...

Conscious is the follow up to Broods’ 2014 debut album, Evergreen, which contained the singles “Bridges” and “Mother & Father” and climbed into the Top 10 of Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart. Joel Little (Lorde, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding), who produced Evergreen, served as Executive Producer on Conscious, producing many of the tracks. Additional producers include Broods, Alex Hope (Troye Sivan) and Captain Cuts. The new album features a duet with Tove Lo and a song the band co‐wrote with fellow New Zealander Lorde. The album title succinctly sums up Broods’ approach to creating music. Explains Georgia Nott, “We're very conscious on what we want to achieve with this album. We're very conscious of what we want to do and what kind of impact we want to make. At the end of the day, it’s important to have a say over every aspect of your art.”

MOTORHEAD - CLEAN YOUR CLOCK

Posted in: What's New | No Comments

Motörhead, Kings of the Road for over forty years, are immortalized one more time in Clean Your Clock, the superb live album recorded at The Zenith in Munich, Germany during the Winter 2015 Bad Magic tour. The indomitable cocktail of power, purpose and head-crunching volume that Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee always succeeded in producing is captured superbly by long-time producer Cameron Webb’s mix, giving this landmark Motörhead release the warmth, curve and punch which helped the band achieve international acclaim during a career which saw the Grammy-winning icons sell over 15 million albums and play to millions worldwide. Clean Your Clock is also a fitting salute to the power of Ian ‘Lemmy’ Kilmister, who founded Motörhead back in 1975 and so sadly passed away on Dec 28th 2015. Recorded only weeks before, Lemmy snarls, roars and bangs that bass with the magisterial air of a man who knows ...

HANNAH GEORGAS - EVELYN

Posted in: What's New | No Comments

Acclaimed pop singer‐songwriter Hannah Georgas has an endless capacity for crafting textured pop songs that confound her audience’s expectations. Her third album, For Evelyn, is Georgas’ most ambitious and personal record yet. It shifts between tracks that prompt solo dance parties to starkly poignant and introspective songs fully realized in Georgas’ collaboration with producer Graham Walsh (Holy Fuck). Throughout the record they revisit wonderfully wild saxophone effects that alternate between playful, seductive, funky, warm, and forbidding, adding depth to Georgas’ compositions. Even in the album’s darkest moments, there’s something vibrant and vivid in Georgas’ music, a light that will not flame out. This is what makes For Evelyn the most important and daring record of Georgas’ career. For Evelyn co‐produced by Graham Walsh (Holy Fuck) and ft. Ryan Guldemond (Mother Mother), Andy Shauf, Howie Beck. Last album cycle included notable theatre tours with Sarah Bareilles (US), City and Colour (EU/UK) Nominated and performed at 2013 JUNO Awards, also nominated twice ...
