On Saturday, Nov. 19, we were witness to a very considerate act of kindness.
Pierre Houle’s photograph “Young Horsewoman” was the Grand Prize Winner in the 7th Annual Sarnia Photographic Club Photo Contest. The picture is of a young girl standing by her Belgian horse, Sara, after winning a 3rd Place ribbon for Youth Showmanship at the Wyoming Fair. At the very moment the picture was taken, the young woman was being praised for her performance by one of the judges. The look of pride and happiness on her face is so genuine. Between her beaming face and the fall lighting, the photo has the quality of a painting on canvas rather then a digital photo.
Many people have stop into Cheeky Monkey to view all the fabulous entries, including the young ladies grandparents, uncle and other relatives. Through them, it was arranged for Pierre to meet his winning subject in person and present her with an enlarged matted copy of his award winning photo. Pierre’s act of kindness was rewarded with another beautiful smile by both the young lady and her Mom.
To view Pierre’s photo along with all the other entires, stop into Cheeky Monkey before Nov. 26, 2011. While here you can cast your ballot for the People Choice as well.
