BIG WRECK - BUT FOR THE SUN

Posted in: What's New | No Comments

Multi-platinum recording artists Big Wreck have announced details for the release of the sixth studio album, …but for the sun. Recorded in Toronto and produced by JUNO Award winner Eric Ratz and Big Wreck’s Ian Thornley, the new album will be released in all formats on Friday, August 30th, 2019. Thornley describes the album as a “no bullshit return to loud rock and roll.” That description comes as no surprise to fans as the album’s first single, the Top 5 Rock Radio hit “Locomotive” set the stage for what’s to come. Fans got their second taste of the album last month with the surprise release of the hard-rocking “Too Far Gone.” Just recently added to the mix, the band gave fans another taste of the new album with the release of “One More Chance.” In addition to the album announcement, Big Wreck have revealed the dates for the Canadian leg of ...

Posted in: What's New | No Comments

In the two years since Jazzmeia Horn bowed with her first album, the GRAMMY Award®‐nominated A Social Call, she’s been busy on the road, honing her vocal skills to a finely tuned level, writing songs of personal relevance and social message, and perfecting a fearless approach to improvisation and performance in general. The convergence of this drive and development has resulted in what is sure to be hailed as one of the most courageous recordings of 2019—Love and Liberation—filled with songs of daring musicality, emotional power, and messages of immediate relevancy. Horn chose the title she did for her second album because, “Love and Liberation is a concept and mantra that I use consistently in my everyday life. For me the two go hand in hand and they both describe where I am in my life and career right now. An act of love is an act of liberation, and choosing to liberate—oneself or another—is an act of ...

VINCE GILL - OKIE

Posted in: What's New | No Comments

Vince Gill paid nearly a decade‐and‐a‐half of dues en route to becoming one of the most popular country stars of the '90s. Starting out as a bluegrass singer and multi‐instrumentalist, he initially made his name with country‐rockers Pure Prairie League and spent the '80s as part of country's new traditionalist movement before finding massive success as a contemporary country hitmaker. Gill had strong mainstream appeal, yet enough songwriting chops and grounding in tradition that he could maintain his artistic credibility without being branded a crossover‐happy hack. That balance made him the kind of performer who awards ceremonies can feel good about honoring, and honor him they did: Gill has won more CMA Awards than any performer in history, and his 14 Grammys tie him with Chet Atkins for the most ever by a country artist. Vincent Grant Gill was born April 12, 1957, in Norman, Oklahoma. His father, a judge, played banjo and guitar, and ...

Posted in: What's New | No Comments

CELEBRATE ZZ TOP WITH THE ULTIMATE 50 YEAR COLLECTION This sturdy American blues-rock trio from Texas was formed in 1970 in and around Houston from rival bands. Their first two albums reflected the strong blues roots and Texas humor of the band. Their success continued unabated throughout the '70s, culminating with the year-and-a-half-long Worldwide Texas Tour. Packed with enough hits to fill a roadhouse jukebox, GOIN’ 50 spans the band’s entire musical career, from its 1969 debut, and its multi-platinum zenith during the Eighties, to its most-recent releases. This new retrospective includes an array from each of the 15 studio albums that guitarist Billy Gibbons, drummer Frank Beard and bassist Dusty Hill have recorded since 1970. Two bonus tracks, “Salt Lick” and “Miller’s Farm” – a single and b-side respectively – were recorded in 1969 by the original incarnation of ZZ Top.

KING GIZZARD - INFEST THE RATS NEST

Posted in: What's New | No Comments

Their fifteenth studio album, Infest The Rats' Nest is by far King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s hardest and heaviest album to date. How metal is it? Very Metal. Maybe even more. Released just six months after the uplifting blues‐rock boogie and deep electro explorations of Fishing For Fishes and drawing on the mid/late 1980s golden period of thrash metal ‐ Metallica and Slayer, certainly, but also lesser‐cited bands such as Exodus, Kreator and Overkill ‐ Infest The Rats' Nest sees a wholly unexpected creative detour into new sonic terrain. Because the stats on King Gizzard's colourful career are stacking up fast: 14 albums in 7 years (including 5 in 2017 alone), headline festival appearances, international critical acclaim ‐ they are now arguably the world's most innovative, important and productive rock band. And ‐ perhaps most importantly ‐ a fervent worldwide fanbase who share endless memes, mixes, videos, graphics, theories and discussions, all through which they explore and expand ...
