Announces Orchestra Openings for the 2017-2018 Season
The International Symphony Orchestra is currently inviting auditions from musicians
in our bridged communities wishing to be part of the orchestra’s 2017-2018
“Diamond” 60th Anniversary Season.
String players are strongly encouraged to come forward, however, there are some openings in the wind, brass, and percussion sections of the orchestra as well.
The first rehearsal is scheduled for Tuesday, September 26th, 7:30 p.m., in Room 60 of the Fine Arts Building, St. Clair County Community College, 323 Erie Street, Port Huron.
The International Symphony Orchestra is currently celebrating its Sixtieth Season of high-quality performances, taking place in Lambton and St. Clair counties. This year the orchestra will present a total of twelve Series concerts - embracing a wide variety of musical genres, including: masterworks; light classics; sacred; oratorio; celtic; family friendly, and pops. In recognition of this Festive Anniversary Season, performances will include appearances by favourite past conductors, a number of previously well-received guest artists, and best-loved repertoire…. including several selections from the ISO’s inaugural 1957/1958 Season!
The International Symphony Orchestra will also be presenting two youth education concerts at McMorran Auditorium, in addition to other special community events, including the “Music Makes Sound Sense” in-school educational initiative.
Please contact the Symphony Office - (519) 337-7775 / (810) 984-8857
or email [email protected] to schedule an audition time.
The International Symphony Orchestra gratefully acknowledges the Ontario Arts Council,
Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts for their assistance in making possible our 2017/2018 Season.
We are also appreciative of St. Clair County Community College’s continued dedication and commitment to the support of the arts.
