Theatre Sarnia Encore Presentation of Award Winning “Girls Like”

Theatre Sarnia’s production of Girls Like that has been selected as the best play in Western Ontario and will be competing in the Theatre Ontario Festival in Richmond Hill in May. As well as being selected to compete at the provincial competition  the company was also won a number of awards at the Western Ontario Drama League Festival held in Guelph over March break. The awards included:

- Best Co-ordinated Production
- Best Visual Production
- Outstanding Technical Achievement
- Outstanding Ensemble Work

- Best Set Design
- Best Sound Design - Henri Canino
- Best Complex Choreography - Jacqueline Mckenzie
- Best Projections - Ian Alexander
- Outstanding Direction- Henri Canino

- Best Production in Festival
An Encore Performance of Girls Like That will be presented at The Imperial Theatre. The plan is to have a school matinee on Tuesday April 9th at 10:00am and a public performance Tuesday April 9th at 7:30pm

Synopsis of the show:
A naked photo of Scarlett goes viral. Rumours spread across smartphones like wildfire and her reputation becomes toxic, threatening to shatter the clique of girls she has grown up with. But how long can Scarlett remain silent? And why isn’t it the same for boys? Girls Like That is an explosive new play that explores the evolution of feminist consciousness and modern female friendships in the wake of advancing technology.
